Binance SMS Verification and Virtual Number

Binance requires a valid phone number when you open an account and when you enable SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA); it does not accept VOIP lines. With Turonay you can complete that step with a non-VOIP line from a real operator, without sharing your personal number. If no code arrives, your payment is refunded automatically.

Your number stays out of breaches

Exchange databases are a prime target for attackers. If your registered number leaks, it leaves a trail that maps directly to your crypto holdings; targeted phishing and SIM-swap attempts feed on exactly that.

It does not replace KYC

Phone verification and identity verification are separate processes. The official documents and face check required for withdrawal limits must be completed with your own real identity. This page covers only the SMS step.

You can see which server delivers

The panel shows each server's real seven-day delivery rate. With financial services the verification window is narrow, so that difference matters.

Why do crypto exchanges reject VOIP numbers?

To stop bulk account creation by automated tools and abuse of bonus campaigns, exchanges check whether the number belongs to a real mobile operator. Internet numbers such as Google Voice sit in known VOIP ranges and are rejected at the verification screen.

Turonay's pool comes from physical SIM cards belonging to real operators, so it is not caught by that filter. Binance's own risk checks are always decisive, though; if no code arrives you are refunded automatically. You can read how the infrastructure works in our virtual number guide or in the SMS verification overview.

Common issues

  • Country not supported: Binance does not accept some country codes. Choose another country and try again; an unused number is refunded.
  • The code is slow: With financial services the verification window is narrow. Do not request a second code before the timer ends; a new request usually invalidates the first.
  • No codes on later logins: The number is single-use and returns to the pool. For permanent access, make an app-based authenticator your primary 2FA method.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most asked about Binance

Ask Support
Does Binance accept virtual numbers?

Binance rejects internet-based (VOIP) numbers in security verification. Turonay's lines are physical SIMs from real mobile operators, so they are not caught by that filter. Acceptance always depends on the exchange's own checks; if no code arrives you are refunded automatically.

Does this replace identity verification (KYC)?

No, absolutely not. Phone verification and identity verification are entirely separate processes. Binance requires official identity documents and a face check for withdrawal limits, and that step must be completed with your own real identity. A virtual number is only for the SMS-based security layer.

Why not use my own number?

A phone number is a permanent identifier. The number you give an exchange leaves a trail that maps directly to your crypto holdings if there is a data breach. After past exchange leaks, many users were hit by targeted phishing and SIM-swap attacks.

Is app-based 2FA safer than SMS 2FA?

Yes. App-based authenticators such as Google Authenticator are more resistant to SIM-swap attacks than SMS and should be preferred where possible. Some operations still require a registered phone number; this page covers that step.

Does the number stay linked to my account?

No. The number you take is single-use and returns to the pool when it expires. If you need a permanent line on your account this service is not suitable; later security codes will not reach you.

What happens to the charge if no code arrives?

When the number expires the order is cancelled automatically and the amount returns to your balance immediately. You are not charged for a failed delivery.
